Women in Art Fair is dedicated to redressing the gender imbalance in the art industry, offering a positive global platform from which female artists, curators and gallerists can show their work and contribute to the developing exchange of ideas around gender, sexuality and culture.

Running during Frieze week, it will show work by 70 women and those identifying as women, selected from an Open Call, alongside an invited selection of artists and contemporary galleries who prioritise female artists.

A spotlight section entitled “Women’s Cycles”, curated by Virginia Damtsa, will sit at the heart of the show, showing work by six emerging and more established international artists. She explains that the exhibition will “delve into the biological, emotional, psychological and cultural cycles that shape the female experience, connecting viewers with both the universal and deeply personal aspects of womanhood.”

A high-profile talks programme will run during the fair, with speakers from around the world including Saudi Arabia’s Manal AlDowayan, who represented her country at the Venice Biennale this year; leading female art collector, Basma Al Sulaiman; living sculpture Daniel Lismore; and India’s leading contemporary art dealer, Aparajita Jain.
