First step: what Europe is for you ? 
I sit in the middle of the Maria Valeria bridge embroidering words. These words come from the dialogue with some passers-by who stop to talk with me. I ask them what are they feel about Europe right now and tell  them to write it in the book one word or a small sentence in their own language.
Then I copy the word on the white tissue (but before I divided it on two parts, like two separate lands)  I embroider it making attention. The thread like a bridge connects both parts and point out how can be empty one word without the action that give meaning to it (The word, a symbolic abstraction, arises next to the object or action it represents) I take care not to wear it out in the middle because is the fragile part.
I invite you to come in the middle of the Bridge and leave your word.

The project was developed by the artist during her three-month residency in Sturovo. In addition to the people met on the Maria Valeria bridge and on the different part of the city of Sturovo, Maria Chiara Calvani involved also the students of the Sturovo Gymnázium and primary schools of Sturovo (SK) in a series of workshops and laboratories related to the theme of her project. A critic text by Dávid Mellár will be presented together with the text of a Brasilian poet and artist: Tom Nobrega both involved by Maria Chiara Calvani to reflect about the theme of the project through her work.
