La mostra è il risultato di un’attenta selezione di opere di Dominic Man-Kit Lam, medico, imprenditore, filantropo ed artista di fama internazionale, e di Fabrizio Giacomelli, stimato fotografo di moda, con il quale è nata una recente collaborazione.
Le opere di Lam rappresentano vari momenti della vita dell’artista, sia personali, come Chinese Zodiac con la figlia Gwen Sofia, sia pubblici, come Olympic Spirit: Ode to Happiness, usato a simbolo dei Giochi Olimpici di Pechino e altre crezioni realizzate attraverso il processo ‘Chromoskedasic’, inventato proprio da Lam nel 1980.
Queste ultime opere sono state le più danneggiate dall’alluvione dello scorso novembre che ha colpito fortemente Venezia e l’isola di San Servolo.
Per ricordare questo momento storico, si è deciso di riproporre le opere che erano esposte durante la Biennale d’Arte nello stato in cui versano ora, coperte di alghe, sabbia e detriti, a volte impossibili da eliminare.
The exhibition is the outcome of a careful selection of Dominic Man-Kit Lam’s and Fabrizio Giacomelli’s works. Physician, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Lam is also an artist, famous all over the world. He has recently collaborated with Fabrizio Giacomelli, an esteemed fashion photographer who has worked with the most important top brands.
Lam’s works depict the various moments of his life, both personal, such as Chinese Zodiac, created with his daughter Gwen Sofia, and public. Olympic Spirit: Ode to Happiness, for example, was taken as the symbol of the Olympic Games in Beijng;
These works created with the ‘Chromoskedasic’ processo, a peculiar procedure created by Lam in 1980, have been greatly affected by the big flood of last November that has stricken Venice and the island of San Servolo. And in order to remember this historical moment, all Lam’s works that had been exhibited during the “Biennale”, will be shown here as they are now, covered with, sand, seaweed and debris, difficult to remove.
